Growing our group
This month we had a great turnout and many goodies to try. With eleven participants, it is getting a little more difficult to spread a single bottle around. However, there were so many different styles and even a cider, it made for a fabulous evening.
April’s beverages:
- Jamie and Mark (Oyster Boys Brewing): Neck Oil clone (4.1%), Hefeweizen (>5.5%), and Rum Soaked Raisins: a Belgian dubbel (7%)
- Alex: Cider (11%), Saison (5.4%), and a three year old Christmas stout (4.2%)
- Steve T: English Bitter (4%), Amber Ale (6.8), and a California Common (8.2%)
- Mark M: Landlord clone (4.6%) and Cold IPA (6%)
- Charlie: Grape wine Gose (5%) and a 5 year old Belgian quad (12%)
- Ed: Wild Ale aged on grape skins (6%) and a 6 year old Impy stout (15%)
We are gearing up for the June recipe roulette competition. I believe all members that are interested in participating have drawn a flavour. Drawings are as follows:
- Nicki – grapefruit
- Ed – caramel
- Dena – vanilla
- Steve L – ginger
- Bernie – honey
- Charlie – mushroom
- Ben – rhubarb
- Alex – rose petals
- Munro – herbal
- Theo – orange peel
- Mark (OBB) – floral
- Jamie (OBB) – raspberry
- Mark M – lemon
- Steve T – pineapple
We are still in need of judges and prizes for the competitions. If you have the connections for us, please give us a shout on Facebook.
